Press Release January 4, 2008 Washington State Society of Enrolled Agents (WSSEA) is sponsoring the Teddy bEArs for Kids, Inc.™ program during the upcoming tax filing season. This project involves participating Enrolled Agents (EA) collecting new teddy bears for distribution in late June to local community organizations such as police, fire, rescue and shelters. The bEArs are used by the groups to assist them in caring for kids involved in traumatic situations. Local EA’s are contacting their clients to donate bEArs and initial response has been overwhelming. WSSEA President Kathy Harrison-Suits says that her clients are wholeheartedly supporting the project. She has already collected two boxes of bEArs and anticipates many more. Says Harrison-Suits, "This is an incredible way for tax professionals and their clients to help the local community. Teddy bEArs always bring a smile to a child’s face and provide a warm hug at a time when it is most needed." For more information on this project, contact your local Enrolled Agent or find an EA at www.wssea.org. or 1-800-613-2801.Enrolled Agents are federally authorized tax professionals who have technical expertise in the field of taxation and are licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS at all administrative levels for audits, collections, and appeals. In addition, Enrolled Agents are the only tax practitioners required by federal law to maintain their expertise through continuing professional education. When you need up-to-date tax assistance, see an Enrolled Agent. For additional information, contact Kathy Harrison-Suits, EA at 253-589-1401 or Dennis LeMaster, EA at the WSSEA Administrative Office at 1-800-613-2801. |
